Today Oregon St travels to play California in what use to be a Pac 12 battle.

California finally gets to play someone they're familiar with, and finally gets to play

a game where they didn't have to travel back and forth across the country prior to it.

Cal is playing today with double revenge, as they lost the last 2 years to them.

Cal has 16 starters back from last season, while Oregon St returns only 5 and a new coach.

Since the first week when Cal played at home and beat Cal Davis 31-13, they have

had to travel to the east coast every other week. This is the first time all season

they get to play two consecutive games at home. Those long travels showed up in

their entire team especially in their defense. They gave up a lot of points in the 4th quarter

to their opponents. Miami outscored then 21-3 in the 4th quarter. Cal lost by only 1 (39-38).

The previous week they were outscored in the 4th quarter to Fla St 7-0 to lose by 5.

Last week vs NCSt they were outscored 14-0 in the 4th. This past week they didn't have

to travel which gave them extra rest and extra time to prepare mentally for this week.

And, next week Cal has a bye week. Now at 3-4 they'll want to go into their bye week at .500.

If they're 4-4 coming out of their bye week, they have a very good chance of winning

at least 2 of their final 4 games to become bowl eligible.

In spite of all the traveling they've had to do, Cal was the first team this season

to hold the high powered passing attack of Pitt to under 300 yards.

They held Pitt scoreless the entire 2nd half much to our displeasure, as we had Pitt.

At home this season, Cal has scored 31, 31, 38, and 23 points.

And on the season, they have held 5 of their 7 opponents to 17 or less.

Cal has only 5 turnovers in their 7 games, while their defense caused 16.

Oregon St has 7 offensive turnovers in their last 3 games.

Oregon St has given up 30 or more in 4 of their last 5 games,

and an average of 35 points per game in their last 3.

Cal is 10-2 ATS at home following a SU & ATS loss. Since Wilcox took over as their coach,

they are 12-6 ATS when playing with revenge. And going back to 2015, Cal is

13-4 ATS as either a dog of 3 or less or the favorite when seeking revenge.

They are 3-0 ATS as the favorite playing with double revenge.

Oregon St is 0-6 ATS as a road dog of 5 or more when facing a team that's seeking revenge!
